Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a specific officiant?

We do our best to accommodate each request for a specific officiant based on their availability. You will know exactly who is performing your ceremony and rehearsal. However, as owner, Jenn handles all the inquiries, bookings, and payments. She also communicates with each couple throughout the entire process and creates all ceremonies.

How long have you been performing weddings?

Jenn has been performing ceremonies for 12 years.  In this time, she has added several outstanding officiants to the team.

Upon booking a retainer is required to secure the date. The remaining balance isn’t due until the rehearsal date. We accept cash, check, PayPal, credit card, and Venmo as forms of payment.

When is payment due? And what forms of payment do you accept?

Can we personalize our ceremony?

Absolutely – in fact we highly suggest it! Jenn will ask you questions and get to know you as a couple so she can draft a unique ceremony that is reflective of your personalities, beliefs, and relationship. After a draft is complete, she will email you a copy to edit if you wish to. We want your ceremony to be exactly what you expect and are willing to work with you until it’s perfect.

My Fiancé and I come from different religious backgrounds. Are you able to help us?

This is something we do best. When creating your customized ceremony, we can blend your religious traditions while staying true to both.

Do you perform same sex marriages?

Of course! We are happy to marry any couple who wants to commit to their love for each other.

What do you wear?

We always wear solid black or navy, unless you request otherwise. Our goal is to blend in as much as possible – we don’t ever want to take away from the two of you! We also make sure to step out of the photographer’s way for your first kiss and when possible, during your personal vow exchange.

Do you attend the reception too?

While we are always flattered when invited, we do not attend rehearsal dinners or your reception unless you need us there for a specific reason. Once your ceremony concludes, our job at your wedding is done and there is no need to extend an invitation to your reception.

How do we get our marriage license?

You can apply for your marriage license at your local town or city hall up to 60 days before your ceremony, but no less than 24 hours in advance. You will need your original birth certificates, drivers’ licenses and $40. If you can’t find your birth certificate, some towns will accept a passport. If attending your rehearsal, we ask that you bring your marriage license then. We will have your witnesses sign in advance, then fill out the officiant part after the ceremony, and mail it for you on the way home.

Can you help me with my vows?

Absolutely! Writing your own vows can be intimidating, but we are here to help! We are also happy to read them in advance and give you feedback.

Do I need a rehearsal?

This really depends on your personal circumstances. If you have a very small bridal party and are having your ceremony at a venue, with a coordinator, you may not need one. However, if your bridal party is larger with parents and grandparents walking down the aisle, flower girls, ring bearers, dogs, “Flower man” - then we would suggest rehearsing to avoid any unnecessary hiccups during your ceremony.

How do we book you?

This is the easy part! Simply fill out the contact us form and we will be in touch shortly.

Do you charge separate travel fees?

We charge travel fees for ceremonies taking place outside of Monroe County. Please inquire for exact costs based off location.
